@Nemesis-of-the-Gods: Oh, I'm FAAAR from done with the colours! I'm not even halfway done! I haven't even put the flat outs on the clouds yet, I'm still processing what to do about them :P

@Thistle Xandra: Yes there is a way to record it, and that's why I'm streaming! I'm gonna use it as the visual for the video ^^ But I might start to upload all my digital commissions to youtube :P

@AryaBladedancer: Ooh, thanks! Hopefully it'll pop more once all the shades and such are on. I'm even gonna try to make the snow sparkle. If it doesn't look good, I'll skip it, but dangit I have to try!

@Perynne: Originally I wanted to make a fire for her to warm up to, but I skipped it because it suited her better so sit in the dark. The pipe smoke is gonna shead some green light on her though >

sorry, aero and pery Considering all the stuff I want to do for the story (pics) and the length, I just don't think I'll make it in time, especially since I'm using my commute time (when I usually write) to get other things finished >_< I actually hate how I was rushed with the Halloween one since I was trying to submit it in time for the GW contest (and they don't even look at lit T_T). I wrote the battle scenes last, so they feel rushed and incomplete to me when every I reread them now D:

I'll most likely finish it some time in Jan/Feb though. I have it all sketched out in my mind, and it won't leave until I write it down >_<

If it's alright with those it concerns, I would like to change the genre of my entry.
I had at first wanted to make an illustration, which did come out quite nice if i say so myself, but I found that my scanner is not working )': (I'll ask Dwayna for a new one when Wintersday comes along).
Anyhow, I will go back and edit my earlier post aswell as repost my entry here if need be.
Name: Flying Ninja Monk
Idea for entry: Short novel about Dwayna Claus and the resistance she gets while trying to give out Wintersday Gifts.
genre of art: Literature (possibly illustrated)

@Flying Ninja Monk: Sure, you can change your entry. I'll update it to the first post.

@Lil Thing: Welcome! Your entry looks good so far, I like the detail you've done for her armor.
Just one thing, could you perhaps re-size it so the image is not so big? It'll be easier for people to comment on if they can see it properly (and someone might be working with a slower internet connection as well, and loading up a huge drawing would take them a long time). Generally, having a drawing 700 or 800 pixels wide/height is good enough to show it off properly.
Also, could you please provide a link to a progress gallery? For example, photobucket.com is a quick and easy place to set up a free gallery. It'll be easier for the judges to follow your progress if you post your work there as well.

Thanks Perynne
I have a question...Well quite a few o.O
It was said, prior to my reply, that only one entry per person. Does that mean one can not submit both an art and a writing?
If i can get my scanner working I am hoping to scan the art(s?) that i did and make the literature illustrated. When you judge the literature that i give in, would you judge it purely on the actual story, or would the art make a difference? (P.S i'll hopefully still add the art anyway.)
Oh and i really should ask BEFORE that...Is it alright to make my literature illustrated?
Thankchooo!

As far as I've understood it, it's ok to make your literature illustrated and submit both art and writing, as long as the two have something to do with each other and can be judged as one whole.

So yeah, you can submit a story that has been illustrated, or an illustration that has a story with it, as long as the two are meant to be one entry. But you can't enter the workshop contest twice, so to speak. Entering with an illustration and later on with a totally separate piece of writing that has nothing to do with the illustration isn't allowed, and submitting two different pieces of art isn't allowed either.

I hope that helped!

Pery, I could have sworn it was 2 entries per person for the workshop (only 1 for the official GW contest). I know we did that for the Halloween one, and I remember reading Minami write that in one of the Wintersday posts. You can only win once though.

Ah, could be. I'll have to ask Tzu about it then. I didn't enter the Halloween contest so I didn't know that more than one entry was allowed there. :P

I'll post here once I know the official rule for it.

I asked about multiple entries early in the thread and that was Minami's reply. So I guess its ok, but it still wouldnt hurt to double check with Tzu.

@Nemesis: Not to be crude, but your art teacher sounds like a douche. I would also assume he/she's got one or two favourites in the class and worships them eternally? It seems to fit the stereotype for art teachers. Our art teacher was pretty cool, but she really loved watercolour painting and was anal about all the details and techniques but she wasn't that great... so its sort of a similar deal. Just dont let them get under your skin For the hair I didn't mean like a large breeze-y wig but sort of like little wood carving dents but I can see what you meant. If i remember ill try and SS what I mean in game.

on an unrelated note, the t-shirt design for my math class got picked... but my teacher still has my drawing. So I can't scan it in but i might try and redraw it this weekend. Its a bad weekend for my collage so that probably wont get updated. My cat keeps walking all over it though -.- Im expecting not alot of progress for two weeks but this week might get some. Im really waiting for christmas holiday (dec 18th-Jan2nd) and spending the first day and a half getting it finished as fast as I can.

Hm, I think I'll trust Minami on this one and say that 2 entries are allowed. I'll even update it into the first post.
Tzu is a really hard woman to contact. Her inbox in Guru is all maxed out.... :<

@GeminiJuSa: Oooh, that looks really awesome! The only thing I can think of is to add slightly lighter highlights on the necro's back to separate her more clearly from the background. A full moon would be giving quite a lot of light, so the highlights given out by the moon could be brighter.
Also, the rocks, trees and the snowman should be casting more shadows on the ground as well; right now, it looks as though you've only done shadows for the necro and minions.
I love the skull-smoke coming out of her pipe. :3

Oh no, Minami, I hope everything is okay! D:

Nemesis - honestly, your drawing is very, very good. And I have no idea what your teacher is talking about, but pencil drawing is still something that people look for when they are looking at drawings. After all, if you don't have down the most basic of techniques, then how are you supposed to be any good at anything else? So don't worry about it.

And I'll be honest, the copy-pastedness of the contest announcement has me a bit disheartened and "meh" as well. Especially after that email you sent, Koreena.

...still have yet to start my entry, also. Whoops.

I wish you all the best, Minami. Thanks for being a hero while I've been unpredictable, I don't know what I'd do without you!

Now I have a super awesome surprise for all participants of the Wintersday Workshop...

Yeah, sorry about that, I've been cleaning now and got some room for new messages. ^^' As for the entry-thing though, I think we will still use the same rule as we did for halloween:

A maximum of 2 entries is allowed per participant, but only 1 Award can be claimed per participant.
